In case you wondered about the name of our website,
we lived out here by Lake Travis for many years without naming our house or hill.
One year I put up a hummingbird feeder and I was AMAZED at all the activity; and
we have enjoyed large numbers of hummingbirds every year since. Several years ago, when
Jan and Bill were building their house a mile down the road, their architect insisted they name it.
After seeing many butterflies when picnicing there one day, they named it "Butterfly Ridge". Well, not to
be outdone, Ed and I then belatedly named our house "Hummingbird Hill". Thanks to our friend Jon, for
providing the picture of a ruby throated hummingbird, he took on his vacation, which we use as the
small picture on the menu.
